General Practices are expecting huge demand for the Covid-19 vaccine

General Practices are expecting huge demand for the Covid-19 vaccine

About 800 immunisation sites are expected to be operating from July - including a third of the country's doctor's offices.

The College of GPs reports it's had overwhelming feedback that patients would rather have the jab at their general practice.

Medical Director Bryan Betty says it's an added burden for GPs who are all at max capacity - but a necessary one.

He says they'll need extra resources and support from the Government, in the form of funding and staffing.
