The Mount Smart club scored twice in the final 12 minutes - a period where they were down to 12 men for consecutive sinbinning's - to win 30-26 on the Central Coast.
Coach Nathan Brown says it was encouraging to see.
Fullback Reece Walsh was the standout performer, scoring one try, grabbing three try assists and one linebreak, and running for 140 metres.
Elsewhere the Cronulla Sharks have overcome rivals the St George Illawarra Dragons 13-12 in golden point in Kogarah.
