Don't expect the Reserve Bank to change any monetary settings today
26 May 2021
The Central Bank is releasing its latest quarterly monetary policy statement, this afternoon.
ASB Chief Economist Nick Tuffley says some parts of the outlook are encouraging, with the economy bouncing back well.
But, he expects the Official Cash Rate to remain exactly where it is -- at 0.25 percent.
He says the Reserve Bank is going to be very mindful there's a lot that can go wrong and will make it clear it's prepared to keep policy stimulus in place for some time.
