    A prominent New Zealand businessman sentenced today to more than two years in jail - has been denied bail pending an appeal of his convictions and sentence


    The man was sentenced on charges of indecent assaults of three men and twice attempting to pervert the course of justice.

    At a short bail hearing about an hour later, Justice Venning dismissed the bid - ahead of a future date at the Court of Appeal.
