    Northland Police are investigating reports of a shooting at a Paihia backpackers' hostel


    Armed officers were called to a Kings Road hostel about 2.15 this afternoon.

    No one was injured.

    Police are still trying to find the shooter - with both people involved thought to have left before they arrived.

    It's understood a live round was found in a unit where the shooting reportedly took place.
