A courtroom was the wrong forum to investigate the death of Hawera man Allen Ball

This, from the police union after three Taranaki officers were found not guilty of manslaughter.
They were accused of failing to provide adequate health support to the 55-year-old, who died in a Hawera police station cell, almost exactly two years ago.
Police Association president Chris Cahill says taking the matter to court wasn't the right forum.
He suggests Mr Ball's death should have been the subject of a coronial investigation or an Independent Police Conduct Authority report.
