Police are urging more vigilance on the roads following a spike in motorcycle deaths

Figures from the Ministry of Transport show there has been six motorcycle fatalities on Auckland roads this year.
It's already double what was seen last year.
Road Policing Manager for Counties Manukau, Inspector Kay Lane says other road users need to be aware of bikes-- but the responsibility goes both ways.
She says when people are riding bikes they should drive to the conditions, make good decisions, particularly around overtaking -- and wear the correct safety gear.
