Kiwi households are throwing away two point four billion dollars of food waste every year

The value is up despite the Rabobank-KiwiHarvest Food Waste Research finding people are wasting less of their food than in 2019.
Rabobank head of sustainable business development Blake Holgate says that's due to a combination of factors.
He says they include food price inflation, more households, and an increase in the percentage of household spend on food.
Holgate says it works out at over 1200 dollars of food waste per household annually.
