The Government's being asked to make exemptions, to a proposed new congestion charge for Auckland's CBD

A select committee has been hearing submissions, on a proposal to charge people three-dollars-fifty to drive into the CBD during peak times.
The National Road Carriers Association's in favour - but wants its members to be exempt - because they have to drive to move freight.
Auckland Federated Farmers also backed the idea while requesting the charge be removed for people transporting livestock.
Heart of the City wants the toll - but warns the CBD can't be targeted - because retailers are already struggling to bring in customers.
The select committee will report back to Parliament by August.
