Police are investigating after an Auckland high school, on the North shore, has complained about receiving threatening messages on social media platform, Snapchat

Students said they had been left in fear after repeated murder and rape threats from an anonymous account.

One father says his 12-year-old received a rape threat, and was also sent her home address.

Police Inspector Callum McNeil says today's complaint related to a threatening message sent to a Westlake Girls High School student.

Police are also working with Albany Senior High School.
