The vessel with two positive Covid-19 mariners aboard won't be allowed to return to Port Taranaki

The vessel with two positive Covid-19 mariners aboard won't be allowed to return to Port Taranaki

Chief executive Guy Roper says the company had not been informed by the Ministry of Health there were plans for the vessel to return there with all crew aboard .

He says throughout the pandemic the health and safety of their staff, other port users and the Taranaki community has been their priority.

Roper says they've followed all protocols, including those for crew transfers, but they believe having the vessel return is a completely different situation and puts staff and the community at higher risk.
