New figures from One Roof show the nationwide median property value has increased 21-percent a year -- to hit a record high 791-thousand dollars.
Wellington Region's value has increased by 27-percent -- to 902-thousand dollars.
One Roof editor Owen Vaughan says the median price in Wellington City has increased 77 percent in five years -- an increase that may not be justified.
He says there's been no improvements to the quality of the homes, such as makeovers or extra bedrooms.
