    Fears of danger to households - from gas hot water systems stolen from Auckland house construction sites


    Police say a dozen burglaries in the past three months, have mainly targeted developments in South Auckland.

    Acting Inspector Jono Chappell warns the califonts are being damaged while removed, creating potential for a fire risk or gas leak.

    He's encouraging builders and homeowners to record the serial number of their gas hot water systems.
