JMI Wealth director Andrew Kelleher says level four is like oxygen to the NZX.
He says the market's up 3.84 percent and if that continues, it will be the best monthly gain for the year.
Kelleher says it's partly due to Ampol's bid to buy Z Energy for nearly two billion dollars.
He says the takeover bid helped but wasn't the only big move yesterday - Mainfreight shot up as well, with shares at 92 dollars each at one point.
