The One Roof-Valocity house price index shows prices across the country grew five per cent in the three months to August -- up to 983-thousand dollars.
Valocity's James Wilson says the rate of value is decelerating -- with main centres, and regional New Zealand still showing growth -- albeit at a slower rate.
However, CoreLogic figures have the the country's average house price growth rate slipping to 1.6 per cent this month.
But, Head of Research Nick Goodall says the quarterly growth rate is around 5.2 per cent -- similar to One Roof's.
He says it's a fair way down from the peak of growth in April, which was 8.1 per cent.
