Housing stock seems steady as the nationwide average house price creeps towards a million dollars

Realestate.co.nz figures has the country's average asking price at around 900-thousand-dollars.
That's despite the site having its lowest housing stock since records began 14 years ago.
Spokesperson Vanessa Williams says there were still six-and-a-half-thousand homes listed during August, despite being in lockdown.
She says usually there are about 10-thousand listings -- but she's putting it down to stock shortages.
