One poor race has ruined an otherwise encouraging weekend for the New Zealand team in the fifth round of Sail GP off the coast of Saint Tropez

They were second with one race to go before the top-three final.

However, they finished last and slipped to fourth at the regatta and sixth in the overall standings.

New Zealand has 30 points, seven behind leaders Japan.

Skipper Peter Burling reflects on their predicament.

The next round is in Spain next month.
