The Level Four Lockdown hasn't stopped house prices continuing to soar around the country

The Level Four Lockdown hasn't stopped house prices continuing to soar around the country

New figures from the Real Estate Institute show the median price has reached 850 thousand dollars, up 25 percent on this time last year.

Auckland's median is a record 1.2 million dollars and Waikato, Manawatu-Whanganui and Canterbury have also reached record highs.

Institute Chief Executive Jen Baird says there's plenty of demand -- and not enough supply.

She says real estate agents are still selling more properties than they're listing, and sales are happening quickly.
