Slushy snow's expected on some South Island mountain passes today

Slushy snow's expected on some South Island mountain passes today

MetService has issued a road snowfall warning for Milford Road, Crown Range Road and Lindis Pass.

On Milford Road, rain may briefly turn to wet snow from 9am this morning, and more's expected late afternoon and early evening.

Between 4 and 6pm there may be one to three centimetres of snow on the road near the tunnel.

Wet snow's also expected at Lindis Pass and on the Crown Range Road from 7 or 8pm this evening but little, if any snow's expected to settle on the road.
