    A person's been taken to hospital in a serious condition...after an assault in Christchurch's Richmond


    Police were called to Perth Street just before 5 this evening, and located the alleged offender nearby.

    The 38-year-old man has been charged with injuring with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and is due to appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow.
