    Mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Rain developing tonight, possibly heavy, clearing tomorrow afternoon.

    Waikato to Manawatu, also Bay of Plenty and the Central High Country: Cloud increasing. Periods of rain tomorrow, possibly heavy, becoming showers in the afternoon with possible thunder.

    Gisborne and Hawke's Bay: Fine with high cloud. Scattered rain developing tomorrow morning, possible late thunderstorms south of Wairoa.

    Horowhenua Kapiti Coast, Wellington and Wairarapa: Cloud increasing. Rain tomorrow morning, easing to showers tomorrow afternoon.

    Nelson, Marlborough, Buller and Westland: Cloud increasing, rain developing overnight. Heavy falls possible, mainly in the west. Easing tomorrow evening.

    Canterbury and Otago: Mostly cloudy. Periods of rain tomorrow, more frequent from afternoon.

    Southland and Fiordland: Mostly cloudy with a few showers, more frequent tomorrow morning.

    Chatham Islands: Mostly cloudy. A few showers, clearing tomorrow.
