Timaru's Mayor says the latest string of arrests is a positive sign
3 November 2021
Nine people have been arrested in the South Canterbury city, after 10 police raids over three days.
Officers seized meth, cannabis and four firearms.
Those arrested face 51 charges on drug and firearm offences.
Mayor Nigel Bowen says it's good to see Police taking a hard stance.
He says the local Area Commander had said they were going to be tackling crime in Timaru, and this is a good example of that.
