    There's been a stand-off between police and a machete-wielding man in Hamilton


    Police went to a Chartwell home around 4.30pm, to speak to the man about a family harm matter.

    He allegedly pulled out a machete and threatened officers, before barricading himself inside the house.

    Cordons were put up as police negotiated with him.

    The 31-year-old man was taken into custody just after 2am.

    Police say he'll face a number of charges.
