    Covid-19 has been found in Taranaki


    The Ministry of Health has confirmed six cases in the town of Stratford.

    All were tested yesterday, and the positive results returned last night.

    One of the cases is in New Plymouth's Taranaki Base Hospital.

    The ministry says the cases are clearly connected -- and they're also investigating a link to the Auckland outbreak.

    The infected people are currently isolating at home, and contact tracing will get underway today.

    It comes after Covid was first detected in Stratford's wastewater, a week ago.

    Anyone in the town, or who has visited recently, with even mild Covid symptoms is being urged to get tested.
