    The pole-sitter at Bathurst is playing down the significance of the spot ahead of the Great Race this afternoon


    Ford's Chaz Mostert will lead off the grid after scorching Mount Panorama in a lap record in the top-10 shootout.

    But he says it means little until the end of the race.



    It's a later start to the 161-lap Bathurst 1000 this year due to the December scheduling, with action underway at 2:15pm and due to wrap around 9pm.
