A desire to see the Government's event insurance scheme extended

The scheme covers 90 percent of unrecoverable costs for events with more than five thousand attendees ... who have to reschedule.

The Prime Minister says we'll quickly slip into traffic light red ... when Omicron takes off in the community.

That'll mean gathering limits.

Event Association general manager Segolene de Fontenay says the scheme only runs to April.

She says they're wondering what will happen next, and whether it will be extended.
