A Covid-19 paper produced by Treasury in November last year reveals heightened Covid-19 restrictions cost the economy eight-billion dollars.
The true figures will be released when Statistics New Zealand publishes its economic data for the three months to December on March 17.
The most interim Crown accounts, covering the four months to October 31, show Net core Crown debt as 8.5-billion dollars less than expected.
It totaled out at just over 116-billion dollars - or 34.2 percent of GDP.
