Our capital city's economy was the most productive of any region per capita in the year to March 2021

That's according to Stats NZ data, which shows Wellington's GDP per capita was 75-thousand-319 dollars.
That's ahead of Auckland.
Industry and production senior manager Ruvani Ratnayake says Wellington's industries weren't badly affected by Covid.
She says Wellington's largest industries include business services, the public sector and finance and insurance services.
