The All Whites have booked a spot in June's inter-continental play-offs as they pursue a third men's football World Cup

Tommy Smith is one of the few remaining players who featured at their last World Cup in South Africa 12 years ago.

The defender says the squad's depth is the best in his memory.

The All Whites are set to face Costa Rica in June - barring a couple of mathematical miracles in the final round of Concacaf matches this afternoon.

Lydia Ko's mentor Sean Foley believes his charge is mentally prepared for the first major of the year, starting in California tomorrow.

She begins her quest for a third grand slam title at the Chevron Championship at the Mission Hills Country Club, the scene of her second triumph in 2016.

The Blues will be without prop Nepo Laulala until April 16 - he's pleaded guilty to foul play after getting red-carded against Moana Pasifika on Tuesday.
