Auckland are just one point away from becoming 2021/2022 Plunket Shield cricket champions

Auckland and Northern Districts are the only teams alive in the competition, but Auckland have a game in hand.
The seventh round fixture between ND and Central Districts in Whangarei was called off ahead of the final day's play yesterday due to a Covid outbreak, with neither team receiving points.
Auckland can be equalled but not overtaken on average points per game.
The Plunket Shield and New Zealand domestic season ends in a fortnight's time when defending champions Canterbury host Auckland in the final match in Lincoln.
