The seven day rolling average for cases is now around 10 thousand ... down from 13 thousand the same time last week.
The Ministry says people should continue to stay at home, away from school or work if they're feeling unwell.
Meanwhile, 73 percent of the eligible population have had their third vaccination ... for Maori it's 57 percent.
