Authorities are warning drivers to take care on Transmission Gully if bad weather hits this weekend

Authorities are warning drivers to take care on Transmission Gully if bad weather hits this weekend

The 1.25 billion dollar motorway leading north of Wellington opened last month after years of delays and budget blowouts.

Easter marks its first holiday test..

Waka Kotahi regional manager Mark Owen says in challenging conditions, it will be a different road to drive on then the old state highway one.

He says it runs through a different valley so the wind patterns might take drivers by surprise.
