Eleven people died in crashes over the long Anzac weekend, including four teens in Invercargill.
Assistant Police Commissioner, Bruce O'Brien, told Herald Focus crashes happen anywhere, on any road, to anyone - and the tragic consequences last forever for families.
He says we should step back as a country and reflect on the past few days, and look at how we can collectively address this issue.
