    A person is in a serious condition after a car ploughed into a house in Christchurch this morning


    Emergency services were called to the intersection of Stanmore and North Avon roads in Richmond at about 3.50am.

    A witness three houses down he heard the commotion.

    He and a few others began trying to help the driver of the vehicle who was still inside.

    He says the whole situation was just crazy, it's not every day a car is driven into a house.

    The car remains inside the badly damaged building this morning.
