A Wellington City Councillor says it's impossible to say no to the 37-million dollars more needed to strengthen the town hall

A Wellington City Councillor says it's impossible to say no to the 37-million dollars more needed to strengthen the town hall

The council's been given an update on the cost of the project ... which has blown out to 182-million dollars, and will be delayed more than a year.

The Town Hall's been closed since 2013 when it was deemed earthquake-prone, and has seen several budget increases from an initial 43-million.

But Councillor Fleur Fitzsimons says they have no choice but to continue.

She says the Town Hall needs to be finished, so Wellingtonians can enjoy it again.
