A Napier 24 year old has been sentenced to five years and five months in prison... on charges relating to child abuse material

Connor Graham's devices contained more than four thousand 700 objectionable images and videos.

He has pleaded guilty to nine representative charges relating to possession and distribution of objectionable images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.

Department of Internal Affairs Digital Child Exploitation Team Manager, Tim Houston, says putting Graham in prison will ensure he can't access or trade such images.

He says people spreading them bear a direct responsibility for the original abuse.
