England has New Zealand firmly on the back foot with a day to play in the test cricket series at Headingley

England has New Zealand firmly on the back foot with a day to play in the test cricket series at Headingley

The hosts have reached 183 for two at stumps on day four of the third test, needing a further 113 runs to win the series 3-nil.

    Joe Root's 55 and Ollie Pope's 81.

The onus goes on off-spinner Michael Bracewell to extract the increasing turn and variable bounce from the pitch.

However, with figures of one for 70 from 11 overs, England have marked him as vulnerable in his second test.

Wicketkeeper Tom Blundell sums up the circumstances.
