Deep concern over crime in the Canterbury town of Kaiapoi

Deep concern over crime in the Canterbury town of Kaiapoi

Several investigations are underway after a man allegedly threatening members of the public was shot by police in the chest, stomach and limbs.

Police were called to Williams Road about 7.20pm on Saturday.

Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey says several members of the community have reached out, worried at the level of crime in the area.

He says it was only earlier this month the Goon Vape Shop was ram-raided, and residents don't expect to see this in their community.
