A nationwide wake up call for combating air pollution

A nationwide wake up call for combating air pollution

The results of a 2016 Health and Air Pollution study have been released revealing that air pollution contributes to more than three-thousand premature deaths in a year.

Invercargill tops the death-rate rankings for air pollution from vehicle exhaust and domestic fires and industry combined.

Environment Southland chair Nicol Horrell says this is an eye opener...showing nationwide, that vehicle pollution is, in a lot of cases, twice as deadly as domestic burning.
