The Silver Ferns' bench won't give off the same energy as it usually would for Wednesday's opening Cadbury Netball Series match against New Zealand A in Auckland

Coach Dame Noeline Taurua has tested positive for Covid, but is aiming to link up with the team after completing isolation and returning negative tests.

Assistant Debbie Fuller will step into the head coach role in the interim, while Reinga Bloxham, who was due to lead the New Zealand A side, will act as her deputy.

Fuller says Taurua's absence doesn't change what will happen on the court, but they will miss her presence on the sideline.
