More than seven million dollar has been earmarked for the programme.
The Government, Ravensdown and Lincoln University are all financially contributing to the project, which is expected to cost roughly 22 million dollars.
The plan is to create three products -- one that inhibits nitrous oxide emissions, one which tests soil nitrate levels, and a new fungal-based bio fuel.
Agriculture Minister Damien O'Connor says when developed, the products and technologies will be made widely available for people to buy.
