Open Justice reports Leigh Beer, aged 31, is accused of killing 21-year-old Emma Field in May.
Field's body was found at a Devon St West address following a fire that ripped through the building.
It's believed the pair were in a relationship at the time.
Beer was arrested and charged earlier this month, and remains in custody until his next court date in August.
His defence lawyer did not seek a further name suppression order after it lapsed.
