Police are advising car owners to be vigilant, after a series of thefts in Te Kuiti and Otorohanga

One young person is facing nine charges in Hamilton Youth Court today, including burglary, attempted and actual unlawful taking.

Police say many recent thefts have been by young people taking joy rides in stolen cars.

They say they have serious concerns for inexperienced drivers, as well as their passengers and all road users.
