    Health officials say Monkeypox has been an accident waiting to happen -- and we still aren't prepared


    Health groups are urging the government to do more to get us ready to fight New Zealand for the disease.

    Pharmac is yet to secure vaccines and treatments.

    There are now more than 24-thousand cases worldwide -- here, we've seen three.

    Infectious disease and sexual health physician Massimo Giola wants to see an acceleration in our response.

    He says we need to expand legislation to get financial support for people who need to isolate, because it'll be weeks -- not days off work.
