It's been revealed the new National Party MP for Tauranga took part in an attack on a younger boy while at Auckland's Kings College more than 20 years ago.
During the recent by-election campaign, Uffindell said his biggest regret was not returning to New Zealand sooner.
His Act Party rival Cameron Luxton admitted drink driving as a teenager.
Luxton says the National Party needs to explain why the matter wasn't made public before the by-election.
