    A teenager has been referred to Youth Aid after the brazen daylight robbery of a Queen St jewellery store


    Hammer-wielding robbers smashed into The Hour Glass shop, making a dramatic getaway onto Auckland's busy main drag on Saturday.

    At least five people are still at large.

    Members of the public and an off-duty officer stopped the raid, recovering two bags of gems, and nabbing one boy at the scene.

    When a witness asked him what he was doing ... he replied, 'I'm only 13, let me go'.

    A police spokesperson says a 14-year-old has been referred to Youth Aid.
