Former National Party leader, Simon Bridges, has spent the day on the stand giving evidence

A trial over allegedly fraudulent donations to the National and Labour parties is in its third week.

He rejected a question over whether he'd ever given Jami-Lee Ross instructions to collect the donation in a covert way.

Earlier today, the High Court in Auckland heard secretly-recorded conversation between Bridges and Ross.

Ross is one of seven defendants in the Serious Fraud Office trial, who have all pleaded not guilty.
