The aftermath of last month's wild weather is continuing to impact Dunedin's Portobello Road

The aftermath of last month's wild weather is continuing to impact Dunedin's Portobello Road

Contractors have been working to remove unstable rock above the road after heavy rain slammed the area on July 22nd.

A section of the road near Marne Street opened to one lane on Friday.

But it's short-lived, as contractors need to remove remaining debris, which will mean closing the road again.

A Dunedin City Council spokesperson says it will confirm the date of the road closure this week - which may include reinstating the Doon Street detour.
