That's how a memo to Waikato Hospital staff describes the ramifications of the decision to lock down a ward, after multiple transmissions of Covid-19 between patients.
A source has told our newsroom the ward looks after patients following cardiac surgery, as well as vascular patients.
The memo to staff also states the situation is 'ongoing and difficult to control' and warns they're potentially entering the most difficult time of the year in coming weeks.
A spokesperson confirms the services will remain open, and new patients will be provided beds in alternative wards.
