Aucklanders are being warned to be on the lookout for fake raffle ticket sellers falsely claiming to represent local sports clubs

Aucklanders are being warned to be on the lookout for fake raffle ticket sellers falsely claiming to represent local sports clubs

It's been reported several times in Howick and Pukekohe this month.

Police say offenders are approaching people on the street and going into businesses, claiming to be from local rugby or league clubs, selling tickets for raffles already drawn or fake.

They say they also had a report of someone entering Cockle Bay businesses selling discounted fuel cards that are expired.
